God has been taking his bride (you and me) through a process of preparation and renovation, where the house (individually we are a house and corporately as the body of Christ) has been and continues to be renovated and done up, on the inside of us and in some cases in the natural as well. And now the house is ready, maybe a few touches still to happen, but nothing major. Ready for people to come, prepared for the suddenlys that happens in life as people turn up unexpectedly, but you don’t panic as you are already prepared.
During the new year I heard this phrase in the Lord “Good neighbours become good friends”
I believe as a people, God has prepared us and now is going to bring the people and those people are going to come in the everyday ordinary relationships that we are already in and around. Perhaps your workplace, your hobbies, your sports, whatever it is.
For example, the other day in the pools where I go to, people know who I am and what I stand for, not because I have pushed anything on them, but simply in conversation of relationship. And over time we have built relationship to the point where ‘non-believers’ are asking for prayer because of what they are going through. Our relationship has grown to a place where people are happy to ask me for something – an acquaintance becoming a friend.
A friend in the word of God, is one who knows the ‘father’s business’.
“I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.” John 15:15
The things we have learned, we will teach others, the things God has been taking each of us through which at times may have been challenging, we can impart and bring hope to others. Everything I learned from my Father, I have made known to you.
Let’s be a people this year who don’t hold back, but the things we have learned, we would share with others. This is our testimony in Christ and earlier at the beginning of this year, I shared about ‘sharing testimony’ as I heard Him speak “share testimony”.
Sharing testimony is simply sharing with those around you what He is helping you walk through, what He has done in your life, is about honoring the Lord in our day to day and as we do that ‘naturally’, things shift and change in the lives around us.
