I’m loving these spring days here in the Waikato. So lovely seeing the new growth starting to sprout, the blossoms forming on the trees. So too in our lives, where things have been dormant for a season, there is a calling forth of the new. Where things have been hidden for a time, where things have been held back, now is the time of release again.
Recently I heard the words from the Lord ‘Re-Run’.
A Re-Run is a going again and yet in this season will be different from the last. Although a re-run which is running again of things past, it’s not the same as there were, things that have been learnt in the last season that will change what it looks like in this season. There is a calling forth to go again and for some this may seem like you don’t want to go there, but don’t be afraid, it will not be the same and it will have a different outcome.
I encourage you in the Lord to go with courage and boldness again, forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, to take hold of and believe that it will be different, that the things learnt, will make the shifts and changes this time around that will bring a prosperity with it, where in the past it may have brought what seemingly was a loss, but wasn’t, just a deepening foundation in the Lord.
God has been maturing us, teaching us the gift of perseverance, where when mature, lacks no good thing (James 1:4) and in this we can trust in God’s promises and His faithfulness, not in our works, our ability or our strength, it’s all in His.
This morning, I was reading in John 3:2 “No one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.” In this I was reminded of the signs that follow those who believe and those who believe, step out in what they believe, not just in faith but also in action. I was reminded again about ‘being intentional’ and how signs and wonders follow when we ‘go’ with the gospel, not when we stay.
The challenge in going again, what does it look like to run with the gospel, to go with the gospel into all the world where signs and wonders follow? To lay hands on the sick and they will be healed? To see demons cast out? For every one of us it looks different, but I am certainly reminded and challenged this morning again about being intentional to see signs and wonders following those who believe, which is you and me.
Some of you may remember an acronym I made – BBSS
B – Be Intentional
B – Building relationships
S – Share testimony
S – See transformation
The first one “being intentional”. When we have been in a place of winter, of resting, of healing, of dormancy if you like, to go again and be intentional is the first step, just like the blossoms on the fruit tree, they are the first sign of fruit to come.
Being intentional is the first step to seeing fruit form and so if we want to be fruitful in this next season, we need to start taking the steps to see that fruit produced. So, I encourage you this morning to take a moment and think what it looks like to ‘be intentional’ with what is in your hand?
Bless you all today as you step out in Re-Run trusting that those things you learnt in the last season will bear fruit in this season.
