Psalm 32:8
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go.
I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.”
Recently the Lord has been talking about the word “prepare”.
And so the questions come;
Prepare for what? Prepare how? Is it physically, or is it spiritually?
The questions come but then the actions need to follow the answers to the questions.
Often we can get tied up in what God is saying, without actually getting on and doing what he has said. Sound familiar?
As it says in James 1:22. “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”
If God has said to ‘prepare’, what are actions that goes with that?
For Jim and I there are many things we need to prepare and yet we are still asking the question – for what? Do I need to know? No, just simply get on with the next thing that God has said and don’t worry about tomorrow for He will reveal that, in His time.
Step by step we are preparing, our house, getting it in order, cleaning, organising, getting rid of excess etc.
Preparing in the word of God, reading His word, understanding and with revelation that changes not only ourselves, but those we come in contact with.
Physically getting our bodies in order strengthening, getting them healthier, looking after the ‘tent’.
And finally and not that this is last on the list by any means, but daily, spiritually, dealing with anything outstanding in our hearts, making sure we are on fire and remaining in first love with the Lord, soft in heart and not hardened, still giving generously and hearing what the Holy Spirit is saying and responding to Him.
So for us the word of ‘prepare’ is not just in one area, but in many, taking a look at all areas of our lives and adjusting where it needs to be adjusted in response to what the Lord has spoken. We often get tied up in future, but in today and in the ‘now’ there is still a lot to do without worrying about tomorrow.
Is the word ‘prepare’ simply for Jim and I? I don’t believe so.
I believe this is a word for the body of Christ. I believe the Lord has said there is something coming and we need to be prepared in whatever ways we can.
So I encourage you to take a moment and examine what the word ‘prepare’ would look like for you, for the areas that might need some adjusting, some tidying up, some refocusing, some aligning, perhaps of the heart, perhaps of the natural and not simply see what God is saying, but actually do it, not worrying about tomorrow but simply walking in your today.
Bless you all as you ponder these things in your heart and walk it out in your days.
